    • San Antonio is located in the state of Texas and is regarded as the Heart of Texas. It is a cosmopolitan city and has a rich heritage. The city was formally founded in 1718 although it was inhabited by Spanish explorers and missionaries since 1691.

      The Alamo and the Paseo del Rio or the River Walk are the most popular tourist destination in San Antonio. The Alamo is the reason why San Antonio is sometimes referred as the “Alamo City”. The River Walk is lined by cafes, shops, bars, restaurants and nightclubs as well as the Arneson River Theatre.

      Some of the Art centers in the city are Alameda Theatre, Lila Cockrell Theatre and Majestic Theatre. It also has many fine museums like Art Pace San Antonio, the Blue Star Contemporary Art Center and the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center.

      Other notable attractions in the city are La Villita, Market Square, HemisFair Park, San Antonio Zoo, Seaworld San Antonio (the World’s largest marine showplace), the Witte Museum, the McNay Art Museum, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Japanese Tea Gardens and the Steel Eel exhibit. The Six Flags Fiesta has the world’s tallest, fastest and steepest wooden roller coaster. It also has some newly added attractions like the Guinness World Records Museum, Ripley’s Haunted adventure and the Plaza Wax Museum. Tourist can also view the famous Flamenco dance at the Arneson River Theatre.

      Sunset Station is an interesting destination for shopping and dining in San Antonio. There are many antique stores across the city displaying miniature replica of the Civil War and Texas revolution. San Antonio has both ethnic cuisines as well as barbecue. But the most famous cuisine is the Tex-Mex cuisine which offered at many fine restaurants in the city.

      San Antonio has largely clear skies or partly cloudy skies for a major part of the year. It has hot summer, mild to cool winters and has rainfall during spring and fall.

      Located 13 miles from downtown River Walk and situated in north central San Antonio, the San Antonio International Airport is the major airport equipped with all modern facilities. It is served by 14 major airlines and has about 248 flights everyday.
